On March 11, 2013 in the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine Yuriy Krainiak, managing partner of Jurimex law firm gave a lecture for the chairs of economic courts on the topic of intellectual property rights protection. In his report, Yuryi described a number of legislative conflicts and inconsistencies that led to ambiguities in judicial practice and the opposite judgments in similar situations. The widespread use of examples from real court decisions as illustrations of different approaches to resolving similar issues contributed to a more informative presentation.
During a lively discussion, the judges analyzed many legal positions of the Supreme Economic Court and the Supreme Court of Ukraine on the use of commercial names and trademarks, protection of copyright in the Internet, clashes of rights to various objects of intellectual property rights, etc.
The speech of Yuriy Krainiak was conducted within the framework of regular cooperation between Jurimex lawyers and the National School of Judges.
