In May, at 12:10, a press conference was held at the RIA Novyny office in Ukraine with the topic: “Will increase in excise tax on beer help to build OKHMATDYT hospital? At the press conference the main issues regarded registered bills in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine aimed at raising the rate of excise tax on beer from UAH 0.87 to UAH 2.50 with the referral of received money for health care, in particular, for the completion of modern medical treatment, diagnostic complex of the National Children's Specialized Hospital Okhmatdyt.

There is no money in the budget to build a hospital. The increase in excise taxes on beer, as proposed by the bill, will allow additional UAH 4 billion to be received annually to the budget. Money will be sent to a special fund, half of which will be directed to the completion of the construction of the medical and diagnostic complex Okhmatdet NChSH. Danylo Hetmantsev, Ll.D., expert of tax and financial law, member of the Board of Trustees of the Okhmatdyt hospital, attended the press conference .
