On September 13, 2013 in Kyiv, the VII International Forum on Digital Broadcasting in Ukraine was held. This time the forum brought together leading experts in the sphere of digital television in Ukraine and many other European countries - technical directors of TV channels, Council of Europe experts, elected officials, representatives of public organizations and many others.

 Particularly lively discussion unfolded after the speech of Jurimex managing partner Yuriy Krainyak, who during the panel discussion raised the acute topic of tariff regulation for the distribution of TV signals in digital multiplexes. Addressing one of the members of the National Council for Broadcasting, Yuriy pointed out that the regulator does practically not control the activity of the multiplex provider. In particular, knowing about the conflict between broadcasters and the provider, the National Council does not do many things to resolve it. As a result, the market suffers, while the state agency responsible for its development has been inactive for many years.

"Today the future of domestic television is completely given to one company, which the National Council on TV and Radio Broadcasting artificially made a monopolist in the market for the distribution of digital TV signals. However, having created such a monopolist, the National Council refuses any objective control over its activities. As a result, at the present stage, the state has no idea of ​​any basic parameter of digital television in general: from the number of viewers able to receive a digital signal to the tariffs of the provider of multiplexes, the non-marketability of which for many years defines the entire telemarket” mentioned Yuriy Krainyak in his speech.

The International Forum on Digital Broadcasting in Ukraine is an annual professional event organized by the National Association of TV and Radio Broadcasters of Ukraine.
