On 9 December 2016, in Kiyv, a roundtable discussion on issues of patent rights and access to medicines was held with the participation of Law firm Jurimex.At the event were presented the results of the study conducted by lawyers of Jurimex on the so-called TRIPS-plus provisions and their impact on the availability of medicines. The study examined patent linkage, patent term extensions and exclusivity of data in the context of foreign experience and Ukrainian realia.Head of Intellectual Property Oksana Yefimchuk spoke on the topic of patent linkage and Head of Pharmaceutical and Medical Law Iuliia Ivakhnenko reported on the topic of data exclusivity. The reports highlighted features of regulation of these institutions, jurisprudence, international experience and mechanisms of balancing the interests of ensuring public health.
